Your chance to support independent, local journalism and help make a difference

InQueensland has joined with like-minded publishers across the country to make sure your stories continue being told. This week, your donation to our work will have an even greater impact.

InQueensland has been providing independent, high-quality news to Queenslanders for more than four years, and remains committed providing public interest journalism free of charge.

We’ve recently joined a network of similar-minded publishers to strengthen public interest journalism across Australia.

If you support InQueensland’s work with a donation this week, you’ll have your contribution doubled thanks to this network.

Together, this group represents the green shoots of a media industry in transition.

Many of these publications emerged from news deserts to deliver critical information to their communities during the global pandemic, in times of environmental disaster, important elections, or in the context of rising cost-of-living, when accountability from leaders and big economic players is more important than ever.

InQueensland is a new voice on our state’s media landscape, providing diversity in a market once totally dominated by the Murdoch press.

This week, we’re part of a national campaign – Our News. Our Voice.

It’s a week-long, Australia-wide pledge drive by 34 local and independent newsrooms, all members of LINA – the Local and Independent News Association. LINA is a not-for-profit industry body supporting digital news publishers to increase the diversity, relevance and sustainability of news services in communities across Australia.

During the campaign, each publication will receive every dollar donated through the links on their donation pages: everything invested by each reader will be sent directly back into reporting the important news that matters toQueenslanders.

Stay informed, daily

Not only this, but funds raised will be matched by philanthropic supporters, doubling the impact of your individual contribution.

We believe locally produced, independent journalism makes our democracy and our community stronger.

Your donations play a crucial role in sustaining our operations and allowing us to expand our coverage. With your help, we can invest in our editorial team, produce more in-depth investigative reports, and amplify the voices of Queensland and national readers.

With your support, we can continue to provide an alternative, credible and independent source of news for many more years to come.

Thanks for supporting independent local news.
