The threat of flooding has returned to Queensland as heavy rains inundate areas in the north and west of the state.
The Bureau of Meteorology said moisture from a weak tropical low in the Gulf of Carpentaria was combining with an upper-level trough creating a broad area of cloud and wet weather extending into the Bight.
A major flood warning has been issued for the Bohle River, north of Townsville while a moderate flood warning was issued for the Balonne, Haughton, lower Herbert and Diamantina rivers.
A minor flood warning was issued for the Daintree and Mossman rivers as well as the Thomson and Barcoo.
