Flood threat returns to Queensland’s north, west
The threat of flooding has returned to Queensland as heavy rains inundate areas in the north and west of the state.

The Bureau of Meteorology said moisture from a weak tropical low in the Gulf of Carpentaria was combining with an upper-level trough creating a broad area of cloud and wet weather extending into the Bight.
The bureau said a severe weather warning was in place for central and western Queensland for heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding that was expected to persist into Tuesday.
Another severe weather warning for heavy rainfall was current for the eastern interior of South Australia for heavy rainfall developing this evening and extending into western NSW on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, the bulk of the showers and thunderstorm risk is forecast to contract into southern Queensland and central NSW, potentially brushing across northern Victoria.
A major flood warning has been issued for the Bohle River, north of Townsville while a moderate flood warning was issued for the Balonne, Haughton, lower Herbert and Diamantina rivers.
A minor flood warning was issued for the Daintree and Mossman rivers as well as the Thomson and Barcoo.
