Body found in home blaze, police question man with burns
A man with burns to his face and limbs in being questioned after another man’s body was found following a suspicious fire on the northern Gold Coast.
The 38-year-old is in a stable condition in Royal Brisbane and Womenās Hospital after being picked up by an ambulance at Sheldon, in Brisbaneās south, about 11.40pm on Wednesday.
Detectives are questioning him about a suspicious fire at a home on Leichhardt St, Coomera, where an unidentified manās body was found about half an hour earlier.
āPolice are awaiting results of an autopsy to determine cause of death and confirm the manās identity,ā officers said in a statement on Thursday.
āA 38-year-old man is assisting police with inquiries while being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.ā
