The bustling heart of Surfers Paradise may not be the first place that springs to mind as a destination for those seeking relaxation, but that’s what makes Lan Bathhouse so unique. Now open on the top level of Paradise Centre, Lan Bathhouse brings a tranquil, design-forward approach to wellness.
The space itself is a thoughtful blend of texture and tranquility. Guests are invited to move between a wellness-maze of Finnish saunas, steam rooms, sunken lounges and cold plunge pools. Each element is intentionally selected to offer a sensory journey, with water – both hot and cold – playing a central role in the experience.
At the heart of the bathhouse are four expansive communal pools, each fed by mineral-rich waters vast enough for effortless unwinding either socially or solo. For guests seeking a quieter setting, three private hot spring spas are available to book – ideal for couples or small groups looking for space to fully switch off.
One of Lan’s most distinctive touches is its floating charcuterie platter, a nod to Balinese-style leisure, served directly to guests who book the private spa. It pairs well with a cocktail from the on-site bar, which offers a curated drinks menu alongside other nibbles and sharing platters.
Beyond the pools, Lan Bathhouse features private treatment rooms designed for deep bodywork and relaxation. The range of treatments include head spas, hot stone massages, body scrubs and Tibetan singing-bowl sleeping treatments to lull you into profound relaxation. Each private treatment is aromatically misted with your selection of essential oils on display in the reception (Hint: they’re the trumpet-looking science flasks).
Lan Bathhouse builds on the success of Lan Spa but expands the concept into something more social, sensory and architecturally ambitious. This is not just a spa – it’s a space designed for pause and pleasure, whether you stay for an hour or spend the afternoon drifting between temperature, solitude and company.
For a limited time only, every evening from 7:00–10:00 pm until Sunday May 11, the lights in the bathhouse dim and the space transforms into an abundance of flickering candle lights. The perfect setting to unwind, reconnect and let go.
Lan Bathhouse is now open, offering a new rhythm of relaxation on the Gold Coast. Bookings are available here.
